Private Acupuncture Treatment We offer acupuncture treatments in a comfortable and private setting. Single use sterile needles are inserted at different locations along the body to reduce pain by increasing the release of endorphins, balance hormones by regulating the endocrine system, enhance the body's immune function, and increase the body's blood and lymph circulation. Acupuncture allows the body to heal itself, which it is intrinsically designed to do. At Natural Bridge Acupuncture we perform a detailed diagnostic evaluation to determine the state of health in your body and design a treatment plan that is unique to you. If you have any questions about acupuncture, please view articles we have posted in the Resources section.
Auricular Acupuncture Very small, very fine needles are placed at points on the ear to stimulate different areas of the body. This procedure is great for addictions, (smoking, drugs, food, etc.) detoxification and stress relief. This simple treatment takes place in the waiting area of our clinic. We are certified in the NADA protocol.
Needle-Free Treatments - Performed by discretion of practitioner
Cupping Many traditions throughout history have utilized cupping in treatment practices. The practice of cupping creates a vacuum on the surface of the body which pulls the skin and flesh up and into the cup. This method allows treatment to deep-level tissues while also bringing blood and energy up to the superficial areas of the body. It is great for muscle pains, lymph accumulation, fascial tension and more. Cupping can be performed in conjunction with needles or without needles.
Gua Sha This therapeutic method utilizes friction as a treatment method. A gua sha tool is rubbed against the skin bringing blood and energy up to the surface. The body responds to the treatment by producing red petechia on the surface of the skin. It is a wonderful treatment for dispersing heat in the body, reducing muscle tension and reducing congestion. Gua Sha can be performed in conjunction with needles or without needles.
Bodywork Tui na is a traditional Chinese method of bodywork. It involves physical manipulations of the flesh and gentle rocking of the whole body. It is similar to massage with the added benefit of concentrating on moving qi throughout the body. It is very relaxing and great for accumulated tension and stagnation.
Nutrition As the saying goes, you are what you eat. There are two things that create and energize the cells that compose your body; the air you breathe and the food you eat. In Chinese medicine many aliments can be alleviated with a simple change in diet. In addition, the foods you crave or dislike can relate to excessive or deficient qi conditions in the body. A lot can be determined diagnostically by the foods you eat.
Moxibustion It is said that moxibustion "moxa" acts as an infrared needle. Moxa is made from the leaf of the plant Artemisia vulgaris which is dried and refined. When used in treatment, moxa creates a therapeutic warmth that penetrates deep into the body. It is wonderful for people who are experiencing cold conditions and low energy. Moxa can be performed in conjunction with needles or without needles.
